Covered with short, brown hairs.

The flesh . . . firm, is glistening, bright

Parting the fuzzy skin

Dipping into the delicious goodness

That is what he craves for the most.
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

and buy a cucumber!! Very nice poem, that is!!!!

It reminds me very much of a cool poem I read, by William Carlos Williams, called "This Is Just To Say", and if may quote it from my book:

    "I have eaten
    the plums
    that were in
    the icebox

    and which
    you were probably
    saving
    for breakfast

    Forgive me
    they were delicious
    so sweet
    and so cold"

He's one of my favorite poets. Thanks for making me get my book of poetry out tonight to read that one again.

  • I dont mean to be sreious or anything, but a kiwi is also a bird. Im from new zealand and when we say kiwi we mean the bird. Kiwi FRUIT is what we call the fruit funnily enough

yes, a cute little flightless bird with a long beak thingy. :)
but surely you've been to the greengrocer and you've heard someone say,'grab some kiwis will ya?'
over here on the mainland :p;) we just call them kiwis. probably cause we have no kiwibirds.
