Not knowing when to step out of the picture the young knight ventures through the unknown forest of age and wisdom; though his words are beautiful they had no longevity. His sword was not sharp. He could mesmerize the ladies in waiting with his carefully chosen words of deception. However, he has yet to face the dragon’s breath. Meeting the dragon the knight cowers in fear. “You will not win this battle, young one. Your words cannot pierce this armor. Your best reward is to go home to your princes, before I devour your ignorant attempt at manipulation. My claws are sharp; my breath is like burning embers. Your cowardly words to my bride go unheard. Be gone!”
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

The knight sized up the dragon. He could see he was at a disadvantage, but he also knew though wisdom supposedly came with age so did arrogance. The dragon was so confident he underestimated the knight. The dragon ached. The thought that his bride could have anything in common with this child was beyond his comprehension. The knight smiled and threw his blunt sword to the side. The dragon could not believe his luck. This foe was conceding defeat. But the knight just smiled and drew a broadsword; from where the dragon couldn’t imagine. Holding it in two hands, it towered above the knight; but he held it with both strength and conviction. He wanted the dragon’s bride and he would have her. He was in no doubt of that. The dragon realises his mistake as the knight stepped forward to challenge him. “you think I come armed with just words?” “you think I don’t know your righteousness blinds you to all that is around you, even her . you leave her alone and then think that is somehow alright” “you were a fool then and you are a fool now”
Angered by the knight’s insolence, the dragon lunges for him. The knight steps aside but falters under the weight of his sword. The dragon turns and comes at him again. But this time the knight is ready. As the dragon moves past him, the knight plunges the blade into its soft underbelly. The dragon roars with pain. He once again advances on the knight, who falls to his knees as the dragon’s tail strikes him. he feels the blood, warm, seeping from his flesh. He touches his fingers to it and thinks of her. There is a strength in this one that the dragon did not bargain for. But still this child is no match for him. The knight rights himself and stands as if he is invincible. he calls all the strength he has left, up from within himself. The dragon knows it is time. he does not hesitate. He goes at the knight and the knight stands his ground. He opens his jaws to devour his rival. as he does the knight seizing his chance drives the sword hard into the dragon’s throat. Without missing a beat, the knight picks up his discarded sword, the one the dragon thought blunt and plunges it into the creature’s chest. Without pride he watches as the dragon takes its last breath. it gives him no pleasure but now, he will have his bride.
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say
