Physical Anguish

Sitting, thinking, dying,
he awaits his fate.
Head and legs shaved,
the mental anguish continues.
Maybe, he thinks it will end soon.
The constant electricity flowing
through his mind, a constant
distraction of life.
The door unlocked swings open
Walking down a long corridor,
hearing his every step on the
cold tile; for a moment
the buzzing is gone.
Stepping through the doorway
leading to his hopeful peace,
a family looks on.
Strapped in a wooden chair:
legs, arms, chest, and thighs,
now secured he waits.
His forehead moistened with water
The metal band fastened to
his head. He hears/feels his heart beating
blood through his body.
The blood that will boil in a few moments,
Cooking him from the inside out.
“Eyes taped? No thanks.”
“Hood? No thanks.”
The door slams shut.
Seeing a family crying through the window,
He looks on with serenity,
2,000 volts run through his body
Unconcerned. He twitches and pisses himself.
Closing his eyes, waiting for them to blow out
of his head.
Nothing happens.
The buzzing is still there.
“Try again,” he shouts!
To no avail-
He lives. The buzzing will not leave him.
he awaits his fate.

Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.
