Living in the shadow
Of a memory from the past
I know where to hide now

Feel it swell within me

But my feet still touch the floor
I’m tweaking just how high

I clean my memory
Blood drenched cotton candy
Such a sticky sweet treat
Maggot mix for pancakes
Answers the hunger call
But the protein makes you weak
Leaches coated in yogurt
Make a healthy snack
Earthworm sautéed knish
What a tasty treat
No longer just for the rich
Insightful thoughts impale me
Non-reflective of that day
Air scarcely floats to my wits
It calms me from the pain
I fear the friends around me
They surround me with their love
I do know that they mean well
But its not what I’ve been dreaming of
Don’t know where I’m going
My minds already gone
I know it will be noticed
When my day has finally come
My memory will not last long
About a day of one year
I would end it all now
If not for what I’ve seen
Years they’ve stayed to haunt
In the daylight
Under moonlight
In my waking
With every silent scream
So I hang my head in sorrow
For the nightmare inside of me
It was 11 years tomorrow
The day that ended me

Wow. This one is written very well, but horribly sad. I didn't understand some of it. The good guys ALWAYS win though. That's a fact. And you are a good guy. Anyway, everything comes to an end eventually. But there is nothing wrong with a new beginning.

This sounds like it was written by someone who is hiding their pain with drug use and is coming down off some heavy drugs. I liked it even though it's sad.

And no, twin2, there's nothing wrong with a new beginning, nothing at all.

Yea I'm serious,I've been a slayer fan for over 17 years the album name is"Hell Awaits" and the song name is"Necrophiliac" and for those of you who don't know what that big word means to be polite would be to say "You ever dance with the devil in blue moonlight?" cause if I said what it truly means well I go BYE BYE!!!

Well, first off I would like to say that I have never really been into Slayer's music, so I don't think I have heard this song.

Secondly, I found the fact that I may have written the same thing as somebody else very intriguing. I mean, hey, maybe I do know the song and it came out. Idunno. SO, I decided to take a gander.

I don’t personally see it, but that is just me. Yeah, its possible that they could have some of the same meaning, but ya know, I might be wrong, but I think that songs with the same meaning have been written before, yet they are not the same words.

What song did you think it was by Slayer? I would be very interested in checking it out. If I did in some way use some of their material, it was totally unintentional, and I would like to check their lyrics out.

All I was trying to say is that your poem came across as a "dumbed Down"version of the song "Necrophiliac"by Slayer because of some of your graphic references such as "Time to tap the brachial tube" and "the taste of maggots in your your mouth "amongst some other things that were just a bit like the song plus I have seen Slayer as well as collected many soundboards of them in concert and they usually open this song with a story of well shall we say "Romance amongst other activities with the dead.I wasn't trying to insult you I think that you just tapped into a darker part of yourself and put it in writing.It's actually a well written piece you have I was just pointing out some similarities thats all My Bad if I offended you,Iapologize for that.
