Your heart stops beating
What’s bring you down
I can’t see things
Your imagination’s running wild
It’s in your head now
Don’t shout it out loud
It’s all a mindset
Your living without
It’s not a real thing
It’s all in your dreams
Please silence your screams
Please silence your screams

From the closet
And under the bed
Outside the window
Only in your head
From the hook man
Hunting at the shopping mall
And the spiders
No sinister plan
It’s all in your head
These things that you dread
It’s all in your head
It’s all in your head

There is no bad man
Boogie man’s gone
And no witches
Only fantasy
All the vampires
Won’t come for your blood
And the zombies
They really are dead
It’s not a real thing
It’s all in your dreams
It’s all in your head
It’s all in your head

Go to sleep now
It’s all in your dreams
Sleep so gently
Slumber peacefully
There’s no bad things
All fantasy
Lay your head down
Goodnight and sweet dreams
Goodnight no more screams
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
(Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key

    Very good post...reminds me of the things I have told my children when they are scared. My oldest I remind that the only real "monsters" are people...thanks for sharing! :)

    I wrote another version for my friends daughter a few years back. I looked after her while they had to go out of town, and she had horrid nightmares without them there. When they came back, they said they said said she asked for the "safety song."

    I thought that was pretty cute. I kept thinking of the "safety dance" until it dawned on me what she was talking about. It was a few weeks later when it came up, so I had forgotten the words....really wish I could remember.
    The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

    And I won't make the same mistakes

    I like this, but the lines "go to sleep now, it's all in your dreams" makes me smile because it seems weird to gently tell someone to go to the place where their monsters are, like you are doing them a favour :)

    HAHA...good point!

    Damn, I wish I remembered the other one....now I am actually going have to try to remember.
