Ive hate to roam
And all these hours
Where will I lay my head next week
Just a home
Its all I seek
Don’t need no fancy rooms
Just a roof and these shoes upon my feet

18 hours
7 days each week
16 grand more
Towards nothing that I seek

All that money
I don’t buy a thing
Not what I desire
Left stuck between
A happy home
And fortune found
Not a hard choice
Why am I
Left so profound

300 k
Done twice per day
And what for
Something better
I hope and pray
But to a god
I cannot see
If upon me
Show me something real
Genuinely authentic
Something that I seek
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
(Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key

This is good Depop! In much of your work I see someone searching for something and it makes me what to help them find it. That is good writing!
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

Good poem. Very longing. Home is supposed to be where the heart is.

depop, if this is true to your life then you are rediculusly rich and understadibly unhappy. If you are seeking something more than why not just follow your heart and find your happiness?

Unless you don't know what will make you happy so you are trying to figure it out?? Sometimes your heart can get you in trouble...

true. but sometimes it's worth risking getting it wrong for the chance of getting it right :)

I'm sorry I had to laugh although I know it is not funny. Perhaps if you were in my shoes you might feel differently about following your heart. Actually though, most people don't wind up picking someone with bi-polar, depression, post-tramatic stress disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Anything looks up from that! I am currently learning "discernment" which apparently I wasn't gifted with and found out the hard way...I guess they forgot to sharpen my pencil in the box...SMILE!!!

I realised you made that wrong choice when I replied to you. But my thinking was this, yes it is unusual for someone to make that particular choice when choosing what they really want and need in life, and also by making that mistake you can look back and say OK never gunna do that again and it would help you find what you really need in life by avoiding what you don't. Or to put it another way, your way, they learn discernment. And it's sad to say, but some people can only learn it the hard way.
  • I have always wanted to be retired by 40. I no longer want to be. I have been a workaholic for some time. I started working before highschool, and was in management before I graduated. I have been in a few different lines of work, and advanced quickly in each. It is not because I am amazing at what I do, It is because of my work ethic. I lead by example. Every now and then I get on a job for a few days where I am not the leader. I love it. I just do my thing with a smile and go home with a clear head. That is what i want, but I know it will never satisfy me carreer wise. I hate to live for work, but fo=ten that is the routine I get into. And yes, I often work 100 plus a week, and I am payed very well for doing so. I also know that my time is worth more. I am rambling. I will figure out what to do some day, just not yet.

I agree. The happiest people I know are those who have managed to find a nice balance between professional, personal, and spiritual. I think gratitude for what you have helps too. Happiness is a choice like anything else when it comes down to it.
