I am letting go...

I am letting go...
letting go of all of the sadness,
of the pain and hardness of my heart,
I am letting go of all the times you made me afraid,
of the internal and external cuts and wounds,
of all the times you could not tell me that you loved me,
I am letting go of all the bad choices that I make,
of thoughts and dreams of unrealistic knights in white armor,
I am letting go of the belief that none of it matters in the end,
that nothing could get me down so far and make me feel hopeless,
I am letting go of the notion that I know what tomorrow holds,
that good is automatic and people don't hurt each other intentionally,
I am letting go of my naivety and tears, that truth is absolute and
that love can conquer all,
I am letting go to see the world as it is
beautiful and wondrous
veiled by struggles and sorrows shining in the eyes
of too many lost souls…
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

Hey my favorite twin! That was really, really beautiful. I'm so glad you've started writing again. You are starting to heal and that's a good thing. Don't ever give up. I'm right beside you always.

how sweet. Unless I haven't picked up on the very small difference of 1 and 2, I don't think I have seen twin1 on here before.

She has responded to a few of my poems and another thread in another forum a while ago, but this is her first poetry post. She doesn't really come on here much.

No I don't have alot of time to come on here. This poem I wrote about the abusive relationship I got out of so it has alot of personal meaning to me and feelings. It has been a long 14 years! :o) BTW - Thank you my favorite twin - I am so grateful for you!!!! LUV YOU BUNCHES!!!

These are your words from above and my favorite ones. Always remember them.

    beautiful and wondrous"

I tired to post a message earlier, but it didn’t work, so I will try again now. Here it is….

Hi twin1, sounds like you have a lot to let go of, but I am glad you can see something else good worth holding onto.

    But what about this line…
I am letting go of my naivety and tears, that truth is absolute and that love can conquer all…
Don’t let go of that. I am still holding tight to believing truth is absolute and that love can conquer all, and It is working for me. You just have to trust the right people :)

Good luck to you and your future.

I'm a Twin!!!!! Yeah twins, yeah twins. My twin doesn't come on here unless I'm on the phone and she's near her computer, and she's willing to type what I want to submit.

My twin doesn't come on much either (you probably already read that above). She knows I come in here alot though. Are you and your twin identical?
  • i hope you continue to find the strength/fortitude to move on and live a full life. i have helped the one i love get through what was an extremely abusive relationship on EVERY LEVEL. the healing process is long, hard, and some wounds don't ever fully heal. try to find the lessons in all that you experienced and apply them to your life in the whole big picture. it's all you can do.

  • I am so glad you're out of that relationship, twin1!! What strength and courage to have to overcome such abuse. On to a better and brighter future for you! :) And, it's great to know that you have the ever-loving twin2 by your side to help you through it all. I wish you all the best and all the happiness you so deserve!!!!!! You're an inspiration to anyone who may be in a similar situation and feels they have no hope----"it can be done!" :)
