Methodically you tear down,
disguised as a friend,
your truths are always filled with lies,
when you unfold your destruction,

the cracks and weaknesses left open,
your eyes can plainly see,
awaiting an opportunity to take away what's free,

feeding on lusts and dreams,
making promises you never intended to keep,
loving the control you can gain from one that shows their weak,

you retreat when exposed,
your power limits real strength,
for the grand show you produce,
lacks real substance,

the constant battle and waiting to take
what isn't truly yours,
and leave in it's wake,
a mountain of scars,

you will wreak your havoc,
you will take it all with a smile,
basking in the glow of a thief,
cunning and ruthless in your style,

for all of those who see you
and turn the other way,
just as many seek you
that you will heartlessly devour in your wake,

you take away their sunshine,
your remove the beauty from their eyes,
you cloud them in darkness,
you love to hear their cries,

I hate what you stand for,
I hate all you represent,
your lawlessness makes me angry,
your slyness never relents,

you don't care about the ones you steal,
they mean nothing to you,
that's why you loath the ones who choose to love,
especially when they follow through
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

    Just reading your poem, it is similar in theme to what I just wrote today: the wish to stay away from a destructive person, persons, society or state. (This could be read as a personal or even a political poem, because it does not name its addressee, the accused villaion of the piece.) If it is about someone in particular, though, this poem gives them a good talking to!

    Hell yeah, twinS1! They seem so full of gusto and all that talk can make some fear but, when you look 'em straight in the eyes, and they know you see the cracks in their facade, they are the ones who run, the ones who hide!

    very lovely twin. I really like this one. I shall bookmark it.
    The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

    And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
    Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)

    Thanks for the comments fins! I will have to check out your poem, haven't had alot of time to really read much on here, I like to have the time to read it in peace and think about the meaning and different ways of looking at it...

    Thanks lady! I am pretty easy going and laid back, my sister describes me as "bubbly" and optimistic - smiling and laughing quite a bit. I actually got a cash award at work for my "positive attitude, outstanding generosity, resourcefulness, and support of our office" from my co-workers that surprised me, I was just doing my job. With this post - certain things really tick me off and I have to say something about them...I must be kinda like a little tea kettle that blows its steam sometimes, I am very passionate about certain things...and I think love should rule! :)

    It is a great piece

    It would be cool to see a 'best of' of this site. Man would it be long.
