needing the thrill,
some new scenery,
because you're frequently bored,
it comes easily to you as many things do

some drop in your lap,
others you have never known,
you have seen disappointment,
but you like the challenge,
you say that it keeps you,
makes you stay alive

what about those quiet moments,
when you lay aside all you show others,
even with yourself sometimes you still hide,

if they dare to get close and hold truth to their motives,
you can dismiss them away with uncaring words and a sharp tongue,
and many you will fool because they don't play on your level,
so the games let you take control,
they define who you are

the threats are the ones who can see your heart and reasons,
but who will still love you even if you're wrong,
they won't abandon and dismiss you,
they know more than skin deep and that scares you,
they can't disown you because they're pure

you view it as a weakness and annoyance like an insect,
you want them to hurt just like you or simply go away,
you're stubborn, determined, charming, and willful,
you set your own rules and accept you the way that you are,

however, your passion is quite amazing,
your brilliant mind is outstanding,
your talents and gifts are abundant,
your resourcefulness emense,

there's so much more to you than meets the eye
but you will hide behind shallowness,
no one can tell you how great you are and mean it,
because you just refuse to believe...
