I hope for better tomorrow's for you,
In your sparkling sweet young eyes,
I am only one...and I failed you,
My job was to protect,
Your burden and memories far surpass your age,
I thought I was being strong but strength would have been to flee...

With golden hair and a deeply caring soul,
So graceful...such a warm beautiful trusting heart,
who loves me unconditionally, faults and all,

My precious gift, my little angel, my love has always been there...
my actions will speak louder now than words,

I promise you rainbows, sunshine, belly laughs and good memories
to ease some of the bad,
But most of all safety and stability that should have been yours but you did not have,

Perhaps there is hope...
that you can still salvage some of
that carefree child that you should have been all along...
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

  • Awwww, momma!!!!! :) From what I gather, you have been strong and you have taken leave from a life that pulled you down. You've proved to her that she does not have to settle for that kind of life and that a person can change their life when it's going the wrong way. Of course, you feel you need to apologize because you're her mom and want EVERYTHING to be right but maybe, in seeing the bad, she can better appreciate all the good now and all the good to come. As well, she will realize that "the bad" is part of life but not the end of it. :) Just my opinion, of course. I enjoyed feeling the love you have for your daughter in your words. :)

Thanks! I feel the same way. I don't think the guilt will ever go away but I suspect most mothers have some feelings of inadequacy and wondering if they are doing the right thing with their children sometimes. I personally see my kids as little blessings, I consider them my air in alot of ways...Thanks for the kind words...
