A Spark of Hope

She dances like a puppet to your manipulative hands,
like an emotional child, which one is more at fault,
trying to make your head and heart cooperate just to see the truth,
behind the lies...behind the whys,

To behave like a woman and not a little girl,
to take responsibility for the restling with fear,
for the common good, for those lives it's touched...

Even when the candle only flickers right now,
there is a spark called "hope",
Who seems to like to cut through darkness,
she could run away like she has done so often before,
so far it hasn't worked...perhaps a new approach...
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

She tends to do that just when you need her. :)

It's hard to feel like an adult if you're with someone who treats you like a bad child and makes you think you're a bad child. In a way, you become that child. The scared child, afriad to step on daddy's toes, lest he bite your head off again whilst you still try to put on your adult face in order to deal with your actual children...it's no way to live. So, yes, the woman-child has to get strong and find the real woman that she is and break free!!!

Very good poem, twin1! I like how open and honest it is. :)

Thank you both very much! Yes, we like to think it runs in the family. Actually my sister and I use to write poetry and short stories (usually scary) all the time when we were little kids. Kinda got out of that as we got older and busy but still enjoy it...
