This is the only Pearl Jam album (You could probably make a case for Yield to) that has NO weaknesses at all. That's pretty impressive.

but, versus kicks my ass the most!!! listen to RVM studio version. The rock simplicity of Animal, and explosiveness of Go, the sweetness of dissident, the growl of blood, the sentiments of small town, the alternative in daughter, the awesomeness of indifference, the music of wma, the beat of glorified g, the groove of rats, the passion of leash...

I gather speed from you fucking with me!!!!!!!!!!!

    nice post!!!!!!!

Vs. is my favourite Pearl Jam album. Definitely.

Ditto. WMA, Blood, and RVM back to back to back does it for me...

Love the intro to Go, that bassy funky groove.
    Wish they'd do that live.
And Mike's solo is the best on that song.

I have it on the original US sealed black vinyl (paid $20) , the UK promo #'d green vinyl (paid $30) and on picture disc vinyl (paid $25). One of the least expensive vinyls to get so go for it!

Get it. I found a sealed one a few months ago on ebay for $30.

Somebody around here mentioned that they didn't think Vs sounded great on vinyl. I always thought it sounded fine so I listened back to it. It dawned on me that they probably weren't listening to it loud enough.

    That vinyl owns.

my favourite part of the whole album is the intro of WMA...those drums....the bass hammers in....while the guitar holds back, lingering on one note in the background....and then Ed's vocals come in...a distant wailing, multiple layered vocal.....and then it kicks on into it.

not a bad note on this album

get in your car, get on a highway and put RearViewMirror on as loud as it can go and hit the gas - probably my favorite studio song from PJ - but not a fan of it live to be honest.

in all VS. is so strong song to song - best effort from PJ from start to finish. Great sequencing in my opinion - the songs really flow into each other so great. Love the drums at end of Blood into RVM into Rats.

Whoa I decided to put this album into the iPod on my run today. Truly is a work of art.

Three things I noticed. Out of the gate, on Go, the drumming is superb. Ed's vocals are great. He really holds some long notes with great tone. Daughter is played much slower than it is live
