living a straight way,
doing the best you can,

taking blows that weren't deserved,
tried to handle it with faith and reasoning,

obstacles never seem to stop,
but it was comfortable none the less,

learning to fight from a youth up,
against things that bring darkness,

disturbed more by loved ones pain,
shedding endless tears by the confusion,

helped by a warm heart with a beautiful smile,
thought feelings were genuine and they would stay awhile,

back to life doing what is needed and right,
though sometimes wish for more than just flickers of light,

once a heart is touched and love allowed to enter,
it's not easily forgotten, seems too easy to remember,

sometimes things we want we are just not allowed to have,
sometimes wishes we hold onto we know that they are bad,

a good girl is never tempted, never weak, never able to fall,
even though they are human, seems to be a universal thought,

we let go of things we love even though it's painful to do,
but never letting go of the feeling or memories,
never letting go of the love I will always hold for you
