Strange Place

I know a strange place
where restless souls go to get their rest
where hurt minds go to mend their wounds
where cheerful thoughts are shared
and wise words reach keen ears

I know a strange place full of people
that girl is pregnant
he's married with three kids
the boy who just popped by, now is his Ph.D.
she's got her heart broken
they just lost a friend
my mind is trembling

I know a strange place, it's bouncing in time
now is tomorrow
yesterday was two hours ago
it's night and day on every day of the week

I know a strange place, everywhere you can imagine
Ireland, Scotland, England too
Norway, Finland, why not even Iceland?
America, Australia, Canada and the homeland of saloons
if I didn't know better I'd think also the moon

I know a strange place
I think I've got some friends there

wouldn't change one moment
