Come out of the shell
where you like to hide.
Come out of your safe haven
and take a chance outside.
It's been a long time
since you've seen the light of day.
It's been a long time
since you've had something to say.
I know you like to disappear
and it is mostly caused by fear.
Rejection is your wall
that you don't even try to climb at all.
When the threat comes near
into that shell you disappear.
It may seem safer, where you retreat to
But think of all of the possibilities
waiting outside for you.
Grow some thick skin
and cast away the shell.
Think of all the stories
you'll be able to tell.

A gate in a distance is made of twined spikes
and only one way to exit,
but in order to see it's really quite flimsy
you have to walk up to it,
    and open it.

well i was thinking about all the compliments and whatever and i just started thinking i was feeling the spirit of jeff ament because van halen 2 was on the radio and then i was like thinking that jeff ament from the even flow video is worth my life whatever that means

and i also requested an avril lavigne playing because she really is one of the best singers in the world for my feel and it got questioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, the first time I read this I did not like it...but I reread it today, and absolutelly love it...the metaphor Is great. good job. Really like this (now)
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
