Forgiveness

I cannot function in a world of hate,
especially that which I helped create.
What am I gaining, how can I grow?
If this negativity, I won't let go.
The energy cannot flow.
Anger has taken over the show.
Hate and love can't live,
side by side.
It's impossible to give,
and all you do is live a lie.
It's frightening how it consumes you,
the negativity.
It affects everything you do,
and becomes the tainted air you breathe.
I try to let it slip away,
and reach for more positive thoughts.
Forgiveness in a big way,
leads to the peace of mind that was sought.
