Can I hold you in this moment?
Just a little piece of time.
I'm not asking for much.
I'm not committing any crime.
Can I borrow your attention,
and treasure every little part?
Can I see past the exterior,
and examine your precious heart?
Would I like what I find there?
Would it be what I expected?
Or would it leave me cold inside,
just shattered and rejected?
The barriers you put up are hard ones to break down.
What lies behind the seriousness of your ever present frown?
I'm just a friendly outsider who doesn't mean you any harm.
I might be a bit niave, but my intentions are honest and warm.
I would never hurt you, like others might have done.
I just want to see you smile and help you find the sun.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad I did too. I'm happy to know someone is getting something out of it.
