Missing You

I don't want to be alone tonight.
I need you here to hold me tight.
You warm this endless darkness with your light.
Because when you're near, everythings right.

I don't want to sleep in this big empty bed alone.
I miss your strong, warm body beside me.
It's too cold and lonely right now to call it "home",
I need your safe, gentle arms around me.

I know if I actually fall asleep,
you will haunt my wishful dreams.
And I'll long for the promises you keep,
that are alive in my memory.

I don't want to miss you the way that I do.
But my heart can't help how it feels.
And I know deep inside you are missing me too.
Because I know this love is real.

I've never heard it. But if it's like the poem above, I know I could relate.
  • Nah, it’s about someone missing a love who’s gone. Your poem just reminded me of the chorus. It’s a good tune from a great album called Regatta De Blanc. Here, I’ll lay down the lyrics fer ya! :)

The Bed’s Too Big Without You by The Police

    “Bed's too big without you
Cold wind blows right thru my open door
I can't sleep with your memory
Dreaming dreams of what used to be

When she left I was cold inside
That look on my face was just pride
No regrets no love no tears
Living on my own was the least of my fears

    Bed's too big without you
The bed's too big without you
    The bed's too big
    Without you

Since that day when you'd gone
    Just had to carry on
I get thru day but late at night
Made love to my pillow but it didn't feel right

    Every day, just the same
Old rules for the same old game
    All I gained was heartache
All I made was one mistake

Now the bed's too big without you
The bed's too big without you
    The bed's too big
    Without you”

  • I really enjoed the poem, and it actually reminded me of that to. I really like the police, but I don't think I have a single friend who does. I dont uderstand that, because I think their music is uber.
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

The Police have some awesome tunes, man! Maybe your friends haven't heard Driven To Tears or Synchronicity or Rehumanize Yourself or On Any Other Day... :D I mean, if you're only hearing Every Breath You Take on the radio and thinking that's what The Police are about, I can see why you may not like 'em but they have oodles of great songs. :)

Sorry to yak it up on your thread there, twin2!

How dare you people talk about the Police on my thread!!!! Just kidding.
It doesn't bother me. My older sister always liked them growing up...I never did. There are a few songs they sing that I like, but I've never gone out and bought any of their music. I've found that as I get older, I appreciate them alot more. I'll have to take a listen to that song...I'm curious now.
