A Bumpy Road

This road I've walked along
has been bumpy, winding, unpredictable, and hard
Never wanting to be straight for me
Never wanting to be easy

All of the rights and wrongs, good and bad
joy, forgiveness, happy and sad
Have taken me to a narrow straight
The only one that I can claim
The miracle of your lives
Growing inside

All of the moments that led up to you
All of the roadblocks I didn't think I'd break through
Fade away in the light of your giggles and smiles
made every step of the way worthwhile

So on my bumpy road, I will proceed
with the light of your love surrounding me
No matter the distance, near or far
My path is worthwhile because you are where you belong

Thanks for the compliment. This one I'm putting in the poetry book I'm writing for my girls.

You write a lot about them. I'm sure they will feel very important when they get to read their book of poetry
