Loss of Innocence

Floating like a halo,
an angel's broken wing.
Just what did she do,
to break the thing?

Such a loss of innocence,
wishes can't take back.
Need to just move forward,
no point in looking back.

Sometimes she just remembers,
what she tried hard to forget.
She thinks she can run away,
from feelings she hasn't dealt with yet.

She thought she could move the burden,
a hill she could easily climb.
But it wasn't all so simple,
it was a mountain that was too high.

Such a loss of innocence,
wishes can't take back.
Need to just move forward,
no point in looking back.

    I think we all miss our innocence, in certain things. You're right. Can't look back.

    there's no rhythm and without rhythm it's not a poem......it's jus a complaint.....
    ....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

    There's quite a lot of tetrameter in the poem.

    I like that it has a feel of Nothingman and I'm Open about it. Yes, I like it too.

    have you read any modern poetry? Rythm died with the romantics

    No it didn't. See Kingsley Amis's poem "Against Romanticism" as an example: In fact, the best example I can think of. :D
