Requiem

Now that you are gone,
There is a burning pain
Deep within my being.
You shaped my life
In ways that cannot
Be described by words.
You are loved and missed,
but never forgotten
By those who you knew.
I cannot thank you
Enough for the influence
You have had in my life.
I must now go on
And become the man
You taught me to be.
Ever since you left,
I have wished for
So many little things,
But the one I wish for
Most is to be able to say
"I love you" to you again.

Thank you all for your kind words. I wrote this a few months ago and was debating on whether to post this one. This one is painful for me, it's about my Dad who died at a young age unexpectedly due to a heart attack last December. I am still struggling with his death, but writing that poem and now reading your thoughts are helping things out. Thank you again for your kind thoughts.
