Reprieve

I finally snapped out of it
Waiting for you proved to be a waste of time
My feelings aren't true
My thoughts aren't real
You don't love me, you never have
I misunderstood the attention you gave me
I was wrong
I forgive you,
but most importantly I forgive myself
I now look to the future with hope
I will be loved
I will live instead of survive
I want to thank you for
teaching me how to be strong on my own
I feel I have proved my independence
I no longer feel the need to give my finger
to the world
I am free....free to be me


An awakening....cheers to the future!!

    It certainly beats the hell I have been living. Why do certain things take forever to come to the surface. It is as though I thrive on pain...and once I have had enough, then I will change. I feel change is on the way....

    I'm not sure why some things take a long time to come out. But, that's been my experience as well.

    I'm still living the time before the snapping out.
    gosh, why is one-sided love so.. painful.. strong.. ??!!
    I hate the way I feel about this guy right now but everytime I see him. I fall again!

    well, someday this'll end. happily most likely. :)
    at least now we're friends, and I'm not gonna lose that!! never.

    oh and, nice work. good poem. :)

    great poem.. its amazing how you have to get to a certain point before you realize what was always in front of your face. Guess sometimes we try to live the dream no matter how difficult it is to achieve.

    Wow, thanks for writing that! I can definately relate on this one - it brought tears to my eyes, hits very close to home...
