Up here in my tree ......

I was sitting in a tree
listening to the apples singing
when I saw the enemy
and the worms they were eating.

Who was it that spoke of fear?
I've been wondering for some time now.
It was then I left my place in the tree
for those who I'd always and never be.

Eyes and teeth, what on earth do they mean?
Often mentioned in my poetry.
The strangest things mean the most to me
written in verbal oddities.
I never meant to hurt you, mi diablo, mi amigo, but I've built up so much character I have an alter ego. I have to make a clean break & I have to do it quick because the pain you give me babe would make Cal Ripken call in sick!!!

I don't know what is going on here (through no fault of yours), but I really dig the first verse. Nice easy flow, I imagine them as opening song lyrics. I can only imagine the scenario the song would unfold into. It could go anywhere.
