Time to look within

Does anyone know why it cuts deeper when you
lose something you never actually had in the first place.
Does it make any sense to feel so much for someone
when you know it's not meant to be.

A man sits by himself feeling all alone in his world
suddenly,in one brief moment he sees a shining star and
he forgets all about the life passing him by because
he believes that star will show him the way to true happiness
A kind of happiness he once knew when things were new
before life got in the way of living and of loving
but the truth is he will never know happiness
he will never be fulfilled within himself
until he can learn to respect himself, forgive himself,
and only then will he be able to give of himself

Thank you to all who have been kind enough to read
my words and offer your warmest support and generous
feedback. It is appreciated more than you know.
Don't lose sight of what's important in your life
because before you know it,it could be out of sight forever.
cherish what you love, hold onto to it with everything you have.
just don't squeeze so hard that it can't breath.
love and peace to you all.
I remain,

I learned a long time ago
    that you can't trust ANYONE
to make you feel good about yourself for very long
    Everyone leaves. Everyone dies.
It's impossible to cherish anything all the time
so make sure what you DO cherish most of the time
loves themselves enough to live when you die.
They're still going to blame you, anyway

This respecting of self, and self forgiveness is key. Then what you give is honest and not laced

i need to remember to have tissues when you're around
    You ask me to enter
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
    To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
    ----
    Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame

I have no idea, but I have felt the truth of this myself. :(

That is the hardest type of forgiveness...

i think it's the hardest type to believe in because it is contrary to our training in humility

i think a lot of us got the wrong message from our parents and walk around thinking we aren't worth much unless we live like slaves

but once you get it, ALL forgivenesses become easier... not "easy", but easier, for sure

    Great piece, anon.

I learned long ago to believe in the Little Train that Could, and I still do.

Also, as one who has moved away for what I thought would be forever, and then come back, I also believe in people returning to what they call "home."
