Waiting in vain

She met a man in the city
He spoke of the ways of the world
His intellect was quite intriguing to her youthful mind
She didn't realize that such depth could spark her soul
She could not put words to her feelings
She knew he was the one
Although he loved another, she decided to hold onto the dream
----Time reveals truth to patient hearts
