Thoughts of a mountaineer

Taking on too much again
Your shoulders are too fragile, eyes too narrow
Legs too rusty, lungs too stony
But I'll be there for you
As long as I need you
You were always on my mind
When you were in the way
And love is such a simple word
Much, much simpler than what I've heard
And now you've turned against me
Don't you call for backup
Your shoulders are too fragile, eyes too narrow
Legs too rusty, lungs too stony
But I'll be there for you
As long as I need you
You were always on my mind
When you were in the way
And love is such a simple word
Much, much simpler than what I've heard
And now you've turned against me
Don't you call for backup

Great poem. Now i know what i really think when I'm on a climb...

"Why do I bother?"

"Whatever"
PETITION TO STOP THE BAN OF SMOKING IN BARS IN THE UNITED STATES....Anyone?
This is not really me thinking, actually. I just tried to image how it would feel being a "mountaineer" in a broken love. I mean, a mountaineer has the goal of reaching the summit of a mountain, but on the way there are complications - a juxtaposition of love and his personal goal. So, this poem is an example of how some "mountaineers" cope with this frustrating conflict.
A lot of people are "mountaineers" these days...
