they paint each other's boney faces
in soothing hours of hatred hazes
they imitate the roaring bears
in forests full of hunter ears
they howl and growl with sharpened teeth
although their warmonger's thick as a sheet
they're tongues are bruised and grey and filthy
deep within they'd know they're guilty
but they've drowned their conscience long ago
to march in pride, to pull off a show
to tell us all about their rights
to place some fear, some doubt, some fright
they're tough, they're ready, they've waited long
to get released; this world is wrong
they're all but victims, all neglected
all forgotten, all affected
they're all just sad and rough examples
of how humans on each other trample
the only question left to answer:
is pity something we can cancel?
Hmm... I dunno...
