Life-long buzz

I smoked a joint once,
I was 16
Seemed the right thing to do
It would be my first
nowadays, i smoke so much chronic
that I burst.

A joint for breakfast,
A joint for lunch
A couple for supper
Run to the medicine chest
go grab yourself an upper.

It's cool when you're young and smoke dope
and take drugs
but to have an addiction at 45--
I've tried everything to stop.
Everything short of the hip-hop bop.
somedays it really brings me up
most of the times
it makes me wanna throw up in a cup.

I can hardly breathe
I'm on a puffer
what do i care
as long as I'm not late for supper
so when you think you're smoking a little j
just remember I have not been able to stop
to this day.

A friend of mine had to go to group therapy for his MJ-habit last year
he was only 15, but it was quite bad, he smoked before class, in between classes, lunch, ...

he was high about every hour of the day.
now he still puffs away, but only once a day
maybe less, few times a week
that's still a lot, but what can you say
    he's a good bloke
    a surfer
at the beach whenever he can
    just like me
and all of the guys at the surfclub where we work

I guess I'm just trying to say that there is still hope for those without.
If it only hurts your wallet, well then ... what gives, right?
    maybe not, it's still bad.
Courage will get you through rougher times, with a little help from our friends and those we love.

I hope you can one day do with less.

    Thanks Jamal,
it really is a pretty big problem..
I don't smoke, but it can be bothersome in many ways.
He's not here right now, ironically, he's havin' a j
with our neighbour as we speak..
but i'll show him this later...peace.

I wish much courage to you as well
must be hard on you too, so I feel

life will turn out as cards are laid
    spread across the table
buds and buds aren't quite the same
in lfe is difference, and that's its game

Thanks, it can be very hard on me.
But i'm pretty strong, I think
and just have hope for the future.
  • That was a good poem :)
My friend (44) smokes everyday multiple times a day. I don't even think he gets high anymore. I think he seriously needs it to function :( I've tried to get him to cut back, but it's such a habit he can't. He won't get help either, and won't stop buying weed. What's worse is he smokes cigarettes too. Almost a pack a day. Oh well, as long as he's happy I guess :o
