how old is too old,
to make the journey across the great lawn?
consuming and weaving all the way
leaving delicate, whispy silken trails
across thick green blades
when must we stop growing?
"never" is the word
or the lie
that has my underbelly bruised on the miles
please tell me when i'm incapable of learning new tricks
tell me when the spider is nigh upon me
and this soft, fleshy caterpillar is doomed
i'm distractedly looking for a place to hang my chrysalis
and my senses are poised
impatiently waiting
for the gentle flutter of kleidescope wings
