Third time I missed my stop, I didn't care.
Didn't matter where I went, I'd be happy anywhere.
Crossing through these street lights and the darkness in between,
Everything changes, it's something that I've seen.

When I was stuck in a hole, I made myself a rope.
When everything was dark, I dreamed myself a hope.
When I was without light, I'd chase the sun around,
When everything fell, I picked me off the ground.
When I was without love, a time that seemed so long,
I'd sit there thinking about you, every right and wrong.

But that's over, not anymore,
I didn't need you, just the door,
And I used it, to walk on out,
And I used a smile to laugh out loud.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

Your poems are so sad. This one suggests some strength and maybe bitterness. I hope you heal quickly.

I was never a happy writer, lately though I'll admit my poems are pretty down. I'm usually happy in person, but once again not so much lately.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things improve very soon for you.
