Not This Time

Good men aren't made, they're broken.
Promises aren't thought, they're spoken.
Even the faithful turn their back,
When the light of hope shines through black.
Pillars of stone in time may crumble,
As your hero's courage fumbles.
And the ones you thought would always stay
May not outlast the day.
There are those who may never leave your side,
And those who tried to stay but died.
There are words that can mend the pain you feel
There is a stubborn tone as they refuse to kneel.
A helping hand may be one you bit,
From the grave of the past you won't visit.
There's a broken man with a broken rhyme,
And he can't be fixed, not this time.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

Short and powerful, the way I like it;)
kinda sad tho, are you sure can't be fixed again, even with superglue?
Maybe a desire fulfilled will mend your being

Superglue may put it together, but its that crack you have to live with, it will never go away.
Come on and play on the edge of life with me. Its fun and I love every minute of it!!!

    Good men like good women age whole;
a little scuffed, a little peeled.
They see a light only as white
and forget if all fates are sealed.

The good they die, some young some old
and tears are shed at their passings.
They leave beliefs in short mistakes
as the path pilgrams walk living.

True, but it can grow smaller in time, can it not?
Forgive my learning, I'm still young :)
