I would rather prevent a wrong than avenge one.
I would rather look forward knowing what I'm doing,
Than to look back and question what I didn't do.
I would rather that I'd never use the words to keep you,
Than to whisper those that drive you away.
I would rather not live for memories
When I can create them, or prevent them.
I would rather wage war on you to save you,
But I won't.
I would rather you stayed here,
But you won't.
But I would.
