Farewell to Love

Love, I don't get it.
It never made any sense to me,
And the things it caused made even less.
When I found it, I understood it even less.
It could make me happier then I've ever been,
But like a drug, when it's gone you go through withdrawls.
Never in my life, had I ever felt hopeless, lost,
Until I lost it.
The major events in my life, things said to me, things lost to me,
None had ever knocked me down, let alone kept me there.
So I'm giving it up, its not worth the hassle.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

She crosses the street
wearing her favorite Marimekko dress.
If she was a sound,
she would be lounge music.
But, this is a ruse;
bright yellow flowers in a broken vase,
an opened gate.
She clenches her dress
creating more room within her hands
than fists.
As she steps on the sidewalk
she twirls without caring
if he ever knew her name.

I feel the exact same way :( I would rather be shot in the head 27 times then have to go through losing someone I love....ugh....and no I'm not being dramatic, I mean that more then anything I have ever posted here before.
Please Mr Please
Olivia Newton-John
In the corner of the bar there stands a jukebox
With the best of country music, old and new
You can hear your five selections for a quarter
And somebody else's songs when yours are through
I got good Kentucky whiskey on the counter
And my friends around to help me ease the pain
'Til some button-pushing cowboy plays that love song
And here I am just missing you again
Please, Mr., please, don't play B-17
It was our song, it was his song, but it's over
Please, Mr., please, if you know what I mean
I don't ever wanna hear that song again
If I had a dime for every time I held you
Though you're far away, you've been so close to me
I could swear I'd be the richest girl in Nashville
Maybe even in the state of Tennessee
But I guess I'd better get myself together
'Cause when you left, you didn't leave too much behind
Just a note that said "I'm sorry" by your picture
And a song that's weighing heavy on my mind
Please, Mr., please, don't play B-17
It was our song, it was his song, but it's over
Please, Mr., please, if you know what I mean
I don't ever wanna hear that song again
Man, I remember this record because we bought it the same day as my patton leather shoes when I was seven, and I stomped around in those things like they were tap shoes. I stomped around to this song and the other ones on that record. I don't remember my mom being annoyed.
