A Reason

I can feel these ties break,
They're taking me with them.
I can feel you shake,
How could we have lost him.

And now you'll lose me too
After all that we've been through.
This was the day, we've always feared it
The day that broke my spirit.
I must unfind you all to find the light.
I'll give up this day to outlast this night.

I'm running on empty,
I can't run anymore
I'm trying to land
With wings that won't sore.
I'm trying to see
With eyes that won't open,
I'm trying to fight
With a soul that's stopped hoping.

I'm trying, and I'll try,
But I know that I'll fail
Because with nothing to win
One's heart can't prevail.

With nothing to lose
I'll always break even.
But losing the prize
Means losing the reason.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

This is definately a standing ovation, my friend

personally, I like this part best :
    I'm trying to fight
With a soul that's stopped hoping.

really touching, and it says it all

  • Oh, Kovo! My heart is breaking! :( This is just so utterly helpless and sad and perfect in all it's misery. An exellent job, my friend! :)
