You were my life, and I forgot my past.
It took so long, but I remember at last.
I lived before us, and I'll live long after.
I remembered friends, I remembered laughter.
I remembered life before I met you,
I remembered things that I forgot I knew.
I remembered times when you weren't around,
I remembered everything, the ups and downs.

And I know I'll remember you as well,
I'll remember our heavens, I'll remember our hells.
But I also remembered how to move on,
How to fix things, to right the wrongs.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

  • It's funny how you can get so caught up in someone/something, that everything else just fades. "He who forgets, will be destined to remember". :)
    I liked this one, Kovo!
