My Wrongs

Alone and wasteful,
Sad but I still hold
The words that will provoke,
The words that made me choke.
The times that things were fine.
The times when I had the time
To sit and think and drift away.
When I had the parts to say
Things you knew were true,
Everything I said to you.

But I don't hold the guilt or pride
Of a noble man who's never lied.
I've done my wrongs and more then paid,
I had to fix things, to find a way.
To set things right and make it clear
That I paid my way whenever here.
Far out and nowhere is where I'll stay,
Until I wake to see the end days.
And I'll die out knowing with my pride
I had a clear conscience the day I died.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.
