When You Needed Me

When you needed me
I wasn't around.
When you needed me
I let you down.
When you needed me
I wasn't there.
When you needed me
I wasn't anywhere.

There are days when I
Can walk alone,
But the roads I take
Never lead me home.
There are days when I
Am pushed along,
There are days when I
Can't go on.


Sometimes I'll smile
I might even forget,
But most times I frown
Most times, regret.
Sometimes I think
That I'll let go,
Everytime I can't
Not ever, I know.


So right now I'll bend
And say goodbye
I'll lose myself,
I'll close my eyes.
Right now I give up
It's been so long,
Right now I give into
What I know is wrong.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

    Very well written. I really like this one kovo. I love poems that leave things to the imagination and one's own interpretation. For me this poem is about a loved one cheating on another. Thanks for sharing...hit close to home.
    Adolescence in essence is all about trust.
    Leaving is for the answering machine.
