For You

I'm here for you and nothing more,
As we both lean against the door.
You shut me out, the world too,
So I lean against and wait for you.
A foot apart a world away,
Nothing to share, nothing to say.
Just let me be your man
And take my hand, again.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

    Two things came to mind.

    All is loneliness. For the feeling that this one gives.

    I belong in the service of the queen. Obvious.

    Nice and short. To the point if you will.
    Good poem I think. One is never sure but I think what you want to say comes across.

    Lonliness and disappointment. The door represents a barrier that should be easy to cross, but can't. And since I'm so close, but too far away to help or be there, I'm alone and feel helpless. Not sure if that's what you meant.

    I just wanted to put down what I felt from your poem.

    All is loneliness is a song that for me expresses loneliness the best. Mind you I'm not saying the lyrics remind my of yours. I meant to say I could feel the loneliness.
    I belong in the service of the queen is a line from Adam Duritz. To me it expresses the fact that a man should and will do anything for his lady.
    The door bit was actually quite nice. It brings the image across real well.
    The powerless feel is good as well.
