Gone But Not Forgotten

Your father stopped by today.
We spoke of the fire,
His eyes looked so tired,
Like his soul had fallen away.

He mentioned your girl
And how she was your world.
He opened right up to me.

We talked of your past
Your first days and last.
He let your memory free.

He couldn't figure out
How she'd gotten out
And how his son had died.

I told him the story,
How you went out in glory.
It hurt to see your father cry.

Trapped by a window,
With nowhere to go.
You died, you did what was right.

You gave your life for hers.
Without concern, you were sure.
But she'll never escape that night.

None of us will,
This life seems to kill.
At 15 you learned this was true.

And though harsh words were shared
Your father loved and he cared,
His tears, a promise to you.

Gone but not forgotten.

RIP Andrew.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

Very touching kovo, good one...thanks for sharing :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
  • What a poem! My tears rolled off my face~
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
    but memories...they eat me
    I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

    exceptional piece Kovo

    Your best work IMO
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
