Quitting a band...

I'm just posting this cause I wanted some input on what people think of this. Me and my friends were in a band. We were getting some stuff done, and then the guitarist said he wanted to quit because "God told him he didn't want him to be in the band." Now this kid is the most honest person I know...so I'm possitive he's not lying. Our band wasn't an evil band, in fact we were far from it. We were all supporters of love and peace and such...not mindless anger. I just don't get this god thing. Can someone try and explain it to me...maybe?

    hi

having been in bands for a long long time.

i have been in a few positions were i wanted to leave.

the problem i always felt that being in a band you have a certain sense of family.
and deep in your heart you know that youre letting the guys in the band down.

there have been many different reasons why i have left a band in the past.
usually because i have felt that the band aint gonna go any further than
    mediocrity.

i suspect that (a) yourfriend has either set his sights on joining another
    band

    (b) burnt himself out and just need a plain old rest from being a musician for a couple of months

    (c) is indeed in contact with god.

no matter what his reasons may be he probably just doesnt want to tell his friends the brutal truth that he either doesnt think your good enough to be in a band with him or that he needs a break.
pulling the "god is talking to me" is in fact genius on his part.

cos we cant prove or disprove his claim.

lets just hope god doesnt start telling him to buy a "Kalashnikov"
if you know wot i mean......lol
