your mouth shifts sideways
my eyes shift left

I speak 10 words...

I've got plenty of time but yours has run out

my eyes glance downward
my heart sinks in

it's beating red blood
but it may soon be taken away again

Thanks for the kind words. :)
  • stop the presses and the pressing issues
because we have plenty of time
    to run out of
the burning church on the corner
    of a decaying avenue
    with broken pavement
    and shadows cast
    in the movie we're filming
    i'll be the villain
    steal your title
    sift through gravel, find gold
meet you packing, emphasis on the a
    that never existed
    amen

(Great to see you writing again!)

I'm going to keep trying to write.

God knows I have plenty of material to work with.... with an emphasis on the a that never existed.

    Haha! What can I say... I'm dense. :o That's probably why I don't write poetry. :D
