Happy birthday! You've made it one year more than I have, and that's something special!

Here's part of Sonia Sanchez's "Present" just for you:

and i chant lullabies
as i ride my past on horseback
tasting the thirst of yesterday tribes
hearing the ancient / black / wooman
me, singing hay-hay-hay-ya-ya-ya
hay-hay-hay-hay-ya-ha-ya
like a slow scent
beneath the sun

and i dance my
creation and my grandmothers gathering
from bondes like great wooden birds
spread their wings
while their long / legged / laughter
stretches the night
and i taste the
seasons of my birth. mangoes. papayas
drink my woman / coconut / milks
stalk the ancient grandfathers
sipping on proud afternoons
walk witha song round my waist
tremble like a new/ born/ child troubled
with new breaths
and my singing
becomes the only sound of a
blue / black / magical woman. walking.
womb ripe. walking. loud with mornings. walking.
making pilgrimage to herself. walking.

    thanx you goils.....that really reads like a Toni Morrison vignet, pearlmutt.....beloved or song of solomon.....it reminds me of my favourite Toni Morrison.......and all of her books are my favourites.....or even their eyes were watching god.....but not really more like the magical realism in toni morrison......(her and salman rushdie are the only two kinds of magical realism I can abide - apart from John Irving), but not those south american writters......like GGM and Isabel Allende......gimme a big round fat black woman any day.....heheheeheh.....

    (I got the new coldplay album from my ex, and have been listening to it non-stop tonight - it's so relaxing to listen to coldplay)

    :D YAY! Everything is great!!! So good to hear and may it continue to be great, my dear! :)

    My sig--it's from a short story from Clive Barker's, "Books of Blood". I'm an advid reader of macabre stories and love horror movies and the like and Clive is just amazing to me! He sees humanity in such an honest light and can make you fall in love with so-called "monsters". What's taboo is commonplace and even natural. He makes me want to read because I can feel the stories as they unfold and I hate to have to put them down! :)
