It's only a game, but.....

When the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the actions of the tiger. Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard favoured rage. Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide. On, on, you noblest English. The games afoot. Follow your spirit and upon this charge cry, "God for Harry, England and St George!".

  • hmmm the team obviously do not read the poetry and prose forum... apologies this should not really be here but it will sink soon enough..

    i'll write a little poem to mark the springboks win and justify the thread to some extent.

    Ellis's web has spun a new yarn,
    the springing boks, they came to no harm,
    I hope you enjoy this four year spell
    for it lasts only so long, like the chime of a bell.
    We'll be back when the time comes along,
    for the oval ball, like the web spins on.
