"A Face Upon the Rock"

With the dawn he rose
Brilliance of the early morning
It's orange, red and gold
Eased not a troubled soul
Another long day alone
Colors refused to fade
As clouds began to roll
The cadence of the rain
Played an indifferent sound
But as the last drop fell
A whisper could be felt, softy
Between the silence and the storm
Within the endless dream
He simply stopped trying
Slowly closing each eye
All the while smiling.
I am a nothing dreaming of something unknown.
