"Warming"

I wrote this one after I woke up from a dream. I dreamt of Pearl Jam singing at my old high school gym. As he began to sing it transformed into a music video of just him in a field. I had a false awakening and realized that the song was called “warming.” I tried to write it down as the song played in my head. Then I really woke and wrote this down. It isn’t like the song that Eddie sang in my dream or the song that I wrote down in my false awakening. I wish I could remember the true version of the song for it was much better than this one which is more of a poem. The original song was about Eddie singing about his father. Kind of like “release” but totally different. Any way here it is.
“Warming”
Look at what they dealt me
A home full of smoke and nothing
Upon the shadows, my foundation revolting
In the ashes were figures, so calm
Hands outstretched tightly grasping, jars of clay
Eyes closed to the sun but smiling
Shards of life lie within, undaunted by time or meaning
Dreaming silently they shifted their feet, to the rhythm
They sang this song, releasing the tension
As the jars fell down, I began to lose my sense of salvation
Upon shattered glass I could see pieces of myself
And a realization, that reflections of the pearl
Is what matters most in this awakening.

I am a nothing dreaming of something unknown.
