Distasteful Viewings
2004

On my P.C.
Viewed a beheading
Dare I say
For Cheaper unleaded
Never again will I see
Something so unsettling
Can’t get those images out of my head
Feel their horror
Realize their torture
Beg and Plead
One swift cut makes me bleed
In my nightmares I’m the one who’s dead
When I awake
Frantic breathes I take
Afraid to fall back asleep
In my slumber back the visions creep
My dreams filled with their screams
A knife
Took their life
Never again to see
Their parents, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands or wife’s
Killed Nic
Turned it into a snuff flick
Slaughtered Hensley
Broadcast for all to see
Slashed Armstrong
So morally wrong
What a gruesome way to go
To the world their barbaric beliefs they show
They are evil
Actions medieval
Inspired by the devil
All alone
So far from home
Government turned their backs
What a shame
Their deaths squarely on shoulders place blame
No negotiations
Is what we preach
Deaths associations
Insanity not so far out of reach
Shouldn’t even be there
False policies have left families in despair
Makes me aware
Of the evil in this world
Why would I want to bring
With birth a boy or little girl
To face a life with hate
Between races and cultures
We accept the bait
Bite the apple
Eat the fruit
Avoid the vultures
God is on vacation
The devil makes us eat what’s on our plate
Famine
War
Is what the menu holds in store
Can’t we once explore?
Peace?
A new lease?
On our insignificant lives
Become one common hive
To help
To love
Share all the wealth
That life should really provide
Happy

Until the day we die
