A wedding vow

Thank you for letting me be your drama king
And for listening to every song I sing
Thank you for letting me wear my converse
And for being so easy with to converse
Thank you for accepting me when I fart
And saying my poems are works of art
Thank you for putting up with my snoring
And my Pearl Jam and Coast Guard stories to you never get boring
And let’s not forget my stinky feet
Even with your extra sensitive nose you do not retreat
So onto the serious side
About you being my bride
Before I met you
I accepted that I was going to be alone
That my heart would never find a home
But there you were
My dark haired beautiful green eyed girl
In meeting you
I’ve been blessed by something amazing
It’s left me believing
That there is something true
In the love
Between you and I
Makes a gray sky blue
My love
My life
My wife
With the stars as our guide
With the moon illuminating our joined hands
We start our life’s journey
Together
So fresh
So new
I am not afraid
With us as the choice we’ve made
Our best days lie before us
Future pleasures and enjoyments
In our hearts we’ll save
To be your husband
Is just simply glorious
I cannot promise you a life of sunshine
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old
But I can promise all my hearts devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow
I promise to be faithful
I promise to be true
I promise to carry myself in your absence

    Though his eyes are blue,
they are very easy to see through-
    his soul.
    For in caring,
    love.
    In love,
    caring.
    But true love is
    where my heart
    holds bright skies,
    a bright sun,
    and
    whispering winds.
    A whisper and a thrill
    A whisper and a chill
