As some of you know, I'm in Iraq now for almost 11 months and I'll be home within the next four weeks, I also write for spencer's awesome site http://www.pearljamlive.com. Thought I would add something here as well:

COUNTING DAYS--

Counting days until I go,
Sunup to sundown oh so slow,
Thinking back of peaceful days,
Sometimes it's all lost in a haze..

Sounds of war echo around me,
Please let it end is my constant plea,
Families torn and people lost,
Can we ever justify the cost??

Sons and daughters, mothers and fathers,
Sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles,
Friends and loved ones always hoping,
praying, supporting, caring and loving...

Reflections on the time away,
Have me yearning for the day,
That counting days are a thing of the past,
As I'll be home again at last....
Makes much more sense to live....in the present tense

I know I was born and I'll know that I'll die
The inbetween is mine, I am mine

Why go home??
