I heard you were wintering in Russia,
a month alone on the Neva.
I planned to join you once, if you remember,
(It was a pilgrimage of sorts,
you know how I loved those writers)
but no matter.
I think I'll trace your steps later,
when you are gone, maybe in the spring,
when the trees are colouring,
and the snow has thawed an inch or so.
The white is so damned vast,
it makes my head spin.
I'll go to the Winter Palace
and try to guess your route -
(Canova, Gauguin, Rodin?)
And I shall feel you with me,
that is better than nothing.

Yeah, that's the place. Nicholas and the kids used to swim in the ocean and go hiking there in the summer. Beautiful place, yes.Feels Good Inc.0
