Getting Away

On the mountain top,
standing high
victorious and proud,
towering above the rest
this man has conqured
what he set out to do
completed his quest,
what to do next?

Across the vast desert,
he traversed
with his camel and supplies
he survived this wilderness
and all the deadly animals
that inhabited it
another quest completed
now curiosity struck again.

He dived and explored,
the most beautiful of oceans
seeing fish he'd never seen before
swimming with sharks
and whales also
this ocean
that most would not go near
he conqured without fear.

But was it a sense of
discovery or adventure
that made him explore these,
or was he geting away from his past
escaping what had held him back
running from his past regrets
no matter what he did
the memorys were always there.
